According to information made available by road safety officials, six people were involved in the incident.

Two individuals sustained minor injuries while four others escaped without injuries.

Witnesses at the location described a chaotic scene shortly after the accident happened, as traffic movement became severely affected and motorists struggled to pass through the blocked section of the expressway.

According to eyewitness accounts, the trailer reportedly experienced brake failure while descending the bridge.

The driver allegedly lost control of the articulated vehicle before it veered off and crashed onto vehicles beneath the bridge.

Witnesses also claimed that some passengers around the area managed to move away moments before impact, reducing what could have become a more serious tragedy.

Officials later confirmed that four vehicles were affected in the collision, including the trailer and three other vehicles travelling below the bridge.

Emergency response teams were alerted shortly after the crash and quickly moved to the location to begin rescue operations and traffic management.

Authorities stated that injured victims had already been taken to a nearby medical facility before responders arrived fully at the scene.

Road safety officials explained that efforts were immediately focused on clearing the obstruction to prevent additional accidents and reduce the growing traffic congestion around the area.

Heavy-duty towing equipment was later deployed to remove damaged vehicles and restore normal movement.

Preliminary findings from authorities pointed to brake failure and loss of vehicle control as the likely factors behind the accident.

Officials used the incident to remind drivers, especially operators of heavy-duty and commercial vehicles, of the importance of regular vehicle maintenance and ensuring braking systems remain in good condition before travelling.

The road safety command also reiterated its commitment to rapid emergency response and safer road operations across the state.

As recovery efforts continued into the day, traffic conditions gradually improved and vehicular movement along the expressway slowly returned to normal.

The incident has once again renewed conversations around vehicle maintenance and road safety measures on busy transport routes across Nigeria.
