Parallex Bank Rewards 10 Outstanding Lagos Athletes with ₦10 Million After National Youth Games Success
LAGOS, Nigeria – Parallex Bank has rewarded 10 outstanding young athletes from the Lagos State contingent with a total of ₦10 million in recognition of their exceptional performances at the 2025 National Youth Games held in Asaba, Delta State.
During a presentation ceremony at the bank’s headquarters in Lagos, each athlete received ₦1 million as a reward for winning medals and representing the state with distinction at the national competition.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Parallex Bank, Olufemi Bakre, said the initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting youth development and encouraging excellence in sports.
According to him, investing in talented young Nigerians is an investment in the country’s future, adding that the athletes displayed remarkable discipline, determination, and resilience throughout the competition.
He noted that the bank remains committed to discovering and nurturing young talents who can represent Nigeria on the international stage and inspire future generations.
Reacting to the gesture, the Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, praised Parallex Bank for its continued support for grassroots sports development.
He described the financial reward as an excellent example of corporate social responsibility, saying it sends a strong message to young athletes that hard work and outstanding performance can attract recognition and meaningful support.
Fatodu added that the partnership between the Lagos State Sports Commission and Parallex Bank is a long-term initiative aimed at identifying, developing, and rewarding talented athletes across different sporting disciplines.
The cash awards are expected to motivate more young Nigerians to pursue excellence in sports while strengthening grassroots talent development across the country.
