APC Chieftain Calls for Public Support as Nigeria Intensifies Fight Against Insecurity

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State has called on Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue supporting efforts aimed at addressing security challenges across the country.

Reports on Sunday showed that APC leader Olatunbosun Oyintiloye appealed for public cooperation while speaking on the country’s security situation. However, what we found out is that his message extended beyond political remarks and focused on collective responsibility, local participation and confidence in security operations.

According to Oyintiloye, the Federal Government remains committed to confronting insecurity and restoring peace across affected communities.

He argued that authorities are increasing efforts to respond to criminal activities and strengthen protection of lives and property nationwide.

The APC chieftain acknowledged the pain experienced by families affected by incidents of abduction and violence, particularly those involving vulnerable communities and schoolchildren.

He described the situation as deeply concerning and expressed sympathy for those dealing with the consequences of insecurity.

At the same time, he encouraged citizens not to lose confidence in ongoing rescue and enforcement efforts.

According to him, security agencies continue to work through intelligence gathering and operational responses aimed at identifying and prosecuting individuals responsible for violent acts.

He maintained that criminal groups should not be allowed to disrupt national stability and public safety.

Oyintiloye also pointed to recent statements by President Bola Tinubu on national security as a signal of government determination to confront terrorism and related threats.

According to him, maintaining pressure on criminal networks remains necessary to achieve lasting peace.

Speaking on operational effectiveness, he expressed confidence in the capacity and professionalism of Nigeria’s security institutions.

He suggested that where necessary, security leadership should continue evaluating and refining operational approaches to improve results and respond more effectively to changing threats.

The APC figure also highlighted the role of state governments and local authorities in supporting broader national security goals.

He argued that while the Federal Government leads national coordination, governors and local officials are positioned closer to communities and can contribute through stronger grassroots engagement and intelligence support.

According to him, closer collaboration between all levels of government would improve response mechanisms and strengthen prevention efforts.

He further linked security to economic growth and national development.

Oyintiloye noted that business activity, infrastructure expansion, investment and public services are more likely to thrive in stable environments.

He argued that sustainable development depends heavily on effective security structures and public confidence.

Concluding his remarks, he encouraged citizens to remain alert, cooperate with authorities and share useful information that could assist security operations.

He also urged Nigerians to continue promoting peace, unity and national progress while supporting efforts aimed at improving safety across the country.

As security discussions remain central to national conversations, calls for stronger collaboration between government institutions and citizens continue to gain attention.
